If you’re looking to explore Vancouver Island’s wild west coast without the hustle and bustle of Tofino, consider visiting Port Renfrew. This tour is our most demanding itinerary so ensure you are comfortable with windy roads, uneven paths, shallow river crossing, cobble beaches and short steep hikes. If this is a concern, we might be able to accommodate you on a modified itinerary. We will stop first at an amazing local cafe to pick up some coffee and morning treat, and our complimentary lunch. Then, it’s off to Port Renfrew for some invigorating hikes and tide pool exploration at Botanical Beach. We’ll also make a stop at the awe-inspiring Jurassic Grove. There, you can witness 1000-year-old Western Red Cedars on a hidden gem of a trail, rarely visited. Before returning to the city, we’ll take a 30 beach hike to see one of the Island’s most photographed sites: Sombrio Falls. The falls are tucked away in a short slot canyon on the beach. If you’re looking to explore Vancouver Island’s wild west coast without the hustle and bustle of Tofino, consider visiting the south west coast. Once we pick you up at 8am, it’s off to the West Coast for some invigorating hikes and coastal exploration. We will make a stop at the awe-inspiring Jurassic Grove. There, you can witness 1000-year-old Western Red Cedars, including 3.6m large trees! On our way back down, we will 2 more beautiful beaches, suited for your group’s ability. We will stop at either Mystic Beach, Sancut Beach or Muir Creek Beach. All of them have beautiful sandstone features and you could also witness whales crossing the strait, sea lions, seals and otters cruising by the beach or basking in the sun, millions of year old fossils and waterfalls! This tour can also be extended to an overnight trip with an amazing cabin stay and we will circle back through the complete Pacific Marine Circle through Duncan, stopping at the amazing Malahat Skywalk and more!

Pick up at 8am from anywhere in Vitoria, then it’s off to Port Renfrew for some invigorating hikes and tide pool exploration at Botanical Beach. We’ll also make a stop at the awe-inspiring Jurassic Grove. After a 20 minute hike, you will witness 1000-year-old Western Red Cedars in true wilderness and old growth Rainforest! One more stop in Port Renfrew before we take you to your Yurt for the evening, a 1hour hike to Mystic Beach! One of the most popular beaches on Vancouver Island, it boasts a beautiful Waterfall falling off Sandstone cliffs into the ocean over a sand beach. We will be heading to the village of Port Renfrew for diner and a good night’s sleep before continuing on the next day. After breakfast, we’ll take a scenic drive along the Pacific Marine Road. We will stop to marvel at the stunning views of Harris Creek and pay a visit to the 500-year-old Harris Creek Spruce, which spans an impressive 4 meters wide. After getting back on the highway past Duncan, your guide will take you to marvel at the views of the Malahat Skywalk. After an amazing treetop walk you will slowly walk up the tower, standing 250 meters above the sea for some 360-degree views. Moving on we will be stopping for a complimentary lunch and onwards to our last stop, Goldstream Park. This park offers amazing opportunities to view the salmon migration in the fall and a beautiful 20 meters tall waterfall all year round! After all these, your guide will take you back to Victoria, or strait to the ferry if you wish to return to Vancouver on the same day. This trip includes all activity tickets, meals and transportation. Note that you must in good physical shape for this tour, as some of the hikes are on uneven, steep or slippery terrain.

This cave adventure is not for the faint of hearts, as these are wild caves with no boardwalk or overhead lights. You will be navigating the creek bed (dry only in the summer months) equipped with a headlamp and helmet. Walk in the old-growth forest alongside the salmon to a waterfall, soar 250m in the sky with the birds and walk on the tallest wooden train trestle, where the Vancouver Island railway used to run. Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation at 8 am to start the day and bring you back around 2 pm. Start the day with a visit to the Old Growth forest surrounding Goldstream Park. You will walk alongside one of the most important salmon creeks on Vancouver Island. In the right season, you can even witness the salmon in action! Goldstream also features an impressive Waterfall tucked in a small canyon. After this, we will continue up the gorgeous Malahat highway to the Skywalk. This tower 250m above sea level offers a gentle slope to gently take you up to the top where you will be soaring amongst birds, looking over the ocean and mountain tops. A net at the top offers a lounging area and some chairs and benches can make for a good snack break. From there you can hop on the slide, down to the bottom, or walk back the way you came. Our last stop will be a walk to the Historical Kinsol Trestle. This wooden Train Tresol, repurposed as a walkway, stands 44m in the air and offers beautiful views of the Koksilah River below and the hills surrounding the area.

For this tour, we will pick you up anywhere around Victoria, and bring you home afterwards. If you are a single traveller, please get in touch to see if we can pair you up with a group. If the tour you are looking for is unavailable, we might have room on a different itinerary. Enjoy the best of the Peninsula by hopping on this adventure tour. Start the day with a hike wandering through the Rainforest of Vancouver Island while your guide shows you all that hides in the woods. Many edible plants and berries will lay alongside the path and your guide can also teach you the inner work of our ecosystem. Next, we will wander up PKOLS/Mount Doug for the most amazing 360 degree view of Victoria, the Coast Mountain and the Salish Sea. A great photo op! This is also where we will eat our complimentary lunch. After this vista, we will take the short coastal drive up to Sydney to visit the Center for the Salish Sea, a beautiful aquarium full of colourful jellyfish, anemones, fishes and creatures of the sea surrounding Victoria. Your guide will give you tons of information on the underwater world. For our last stop, we will visit the beautiful Old Growth forest of ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ / John Dean Park. The immense Douglas-Firs of this park, towering above the path will lead you to a beautiful pond and an amazing viewpoint.
